Walt Whitman wrote: "To me, every hour of the light and dark is a miracle. Every cubic inch of space is a miracle." While I've never doubted that miracles can and do occur, I always thought they happened to other people under extraordinary circumstances. I'm not sure I actually believed a miracle could happen to me.
However, after last night, I can say without reservation that a miracle did occur. I experienced the miraculous healing of a physical condition that had been plaguing me for years. Last evening, I attended a presentation introducing the life and teachings of Bruno Gröning (1906 - 1959). During the meeting the audience was given an opportunity to experience what is called "Heilstrom" (divine power) in two, brief (5-minute) meditations while beautiful music played in the background. I felt calm and relaxed, supported by the high vibrations in the room emanating from the people who had come from Austria, Colorado, and Hungary to tell us about Bruno Gröning's life and history as a healer in post-war Germany. I wasn't really expecting anything, so you can imagine my surprise when a couple of hours after returning home, my troublesome leg began to shake and flop around like a fish out of water. Having had some experience of what's called "unwinding," I wasn't afraid and was able to go with the flow as I watched the healing process continue throughout the night. When I got out of bed next morning, I was truly amazed to discover that both feet touched the floor at the same time! Something that I hadn't been able to do for almost 8 years. It was a miracle! I wouldn't need the physical therapy, gait training, or the specially-made shoes that had been arranged for me. I had no pain from sciatica and could walk normally without limping! My heart nearly burst with gratitude. My brain is still adjusting to the changes.
